program Information

Day 1

Departure from Djerba direction Douz by ferry.
Visit a troglodyte house in Matmata (Scenery Star Wars movie).
Visit of the Berber museum in the village of Tamezret.
Arrival in Douz, installation in your bed and breakfast accommodation at the foot of the dunes and lunch.
Departure to attend the Sahara Festival.
Back to the bed and breakfast on camels.
Dinner and night in your accommodation.

Day 2

After breakfast, departure to downtown Douz to see the animation that begins.
Departure by the track towards ksar Ghilane (oasis in the sand dunes) crossing the large Oriental Erg.
Lunch in a restaurant at the foot of the dunes.
Free time in the oasis. Possibility of quad bike extra (30 € per hour).
Departure by the track for the camp in the heart of the pink desert.
Dinner and night in comfortable camp.

Day 3

After breakfast, departure for the Berber region.
Visit the village of Chenini.
Visit of Ksar Beni Barka.
Lunch in the village of Guermassa.
Visit of the ksar Hadada (Star Wars scenery of movie).
Return to Djerba by the Roman way.
Installation at the 4 * boutique hotel and dinner. Transfer to the airport following your return flight.

The 52nd edition of the Douz International Sahara Festival will take place from 25 to 28 December 2020 in the Saharan city of Douz (Kebili).

From 25 to 28 December 2020 let yourself be transported by the magic of the Sahara for the 52nd edition of the Sahara International Festival of Douz.

Since 1910 the festival celebrates the rich Arab-Berber heritage of the region. Douz, is the gateway to the Sahara. It is through it that many cultures and generations of nomads and conquerors have passed through.

The Mrazigs tribe will welcome you with a rich and varied program that will allow you to better appreciate the different facets of Bedouin life. It is on a backdrop of sand dunes that you will discover the traditions of the region; from traditional marriage to meharis races to dromedary fighting.

Festival-goers will have the opportunity to discover local art as rich as it is captivating with exhibitions, music shows and a book fair and documentary screenings.

The freshness of winter contrast with the warmth of the sun that radiates on the emblematic tree of the region the palm three.

During the four days of the festival the Douz International Festival invites you to discover the customs and customs of the Berber and Arab cultures.

The agenda of the festival will please all tastes; lovers of arts, culture, music, sports, history, nature and even those in search of a haven of peace to meditate and enjoy majestic landscapes.
